At TRI-County K-9 Search Team, we train twice weekly as a unit.
Our handlers also work with their dogs on an individual daily basis.
Our dogs go through basic and advanced obedience and agility in addition
to their search training. Our dogs are trained as trailing dogs.
Our trailing training has three levels the dogs must complete before
becoming operational. We currently have dogs at all three levels
of training as well as operational dogs. We also have canines trained
in HRD and water detection.
All of our handlers are required to attend at a minimum wilderness
search responder, basic first Aid and CPR. We have members
certified as Emergency Medical Technician's and Paramedic's. We
also currently have one Search Manager available as well.
TRI-County K-9 Search Team is dispatched through our parent
organization Rostraver West Newton Emergency Services. We are
capable of having one or two dogs on scene within 30 minutes of dispatch
and the remainder of the team on scene within one hour of dispatch.
We currently have 3 personnel certified a NASAR SARTech III, 8 personnel
certified as DCNR FTM, 2 Personnel certified as DCNR FTL, 5 Emergency
Medical Technician's, 2 Paramedic's, 5 Wilderness EMT's, and 1 Search Manager. |
